Atelier of Starlight — Privacy Policy

Effective 8 October 2026 · previous version 1 October 2026

An app where your drawing becomes real clothing. Because people of all ages use it, this page states plainly what we receive, what it is used for, and when it is deleted.

At a glance

1. What is sent to our server

Drawings are sent only when the clothing spell is cast. While you play, the app also sends the usage record (numbers only) and Luna activity listed below. No drawing, text or photo is ever part of these records.

WhatWhyHow long
Your drawingTo create the clothing imageDeleted after 90 days
Request and resident identifiersTo tell which garment belongs to which story stepDeleted after 90 days
The generated imageTo return the result and to check failuresDeleted after 90 days
Counts, durations and costsTo run the service and track spendingKept; numbers only, not linked to any drawing or person
My code — a random string the app creates on the deviceTo know whose Luna (the in-app currency) and purchased decorations these are. It does not identify a personWhile a balance or decoration exists; deleted on request
Luna activity — purchases, ads watched and where, what Luna was spent on, decorations boughtTo count Luna correctly, prevent a reward being granted twice, and restore decorations on a new deviceWhile a balance or decoration exists
Usage record — my code, date and time zone, whether today's free story was used, what was chosen at the "one more guest" prompt, time spent in the appTo check that the free amount and prices are fair and to improve the game. Never passed to advertisersKept; numbers only, not linked to any drawing or text. Deleted for your code on request

We do not collect names, dates of birth, gender, contact details, addresses, location, contacts or photo library contents. A drawing carries no information about who drew it. We never receive advertising identifiers ourselves; the ad provider handles them when showing an ad (section 4).

2. What stays on the device

Drawings in progress, finished outfits, story progress and mixed colours are stored on the device only. Deleting the app removes them. We never receive them.

3. Processors we use

We send only the drawing and a short English description, never anything identifying the sender. Both companies state that content sent through their paid APIs is not used to train their models, and we use the paid APIs only.

4. Advertising

Luna, the in-app currency, can be earned by watching an ad. Ads are served by Google AdMob.

See how Google uses information from partner sites and apps.

We do not ourselves track activity across other apps or websites, and we sell nothing.

5. Children and guardians

The app is for all ages. We never ask anyone for a name or an age, and we collect nothing that identifies a person.

A parent or guardian may ask us to delete a drawing by emailing the address below. Deleting the app clears everything on the device immediately; anything on the server is deleted within 90 days, or sooner on request.

Because there are no accounts, we need a code to find the records. Please include the string shown under Settings → About → My code in the app.

6. Permissions the app asks for

7. Keeping it safe

All traffic is encrypted with https. Stored drawings are reachable only by authorised staff and are removed automatically under the 90-day rule.

8. YouTube channel management tool

We use an internal tool that accesses YouTube API Services to upload promotional videos and the channel banner to the YouTube channel we own, @atelierofstarlight. The tool is used only by the developer, is not distributed or sold, and is separate from the app. It has nothing to do with people who use the app.

This tool complies with the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes are also announced in the app.
