Focus, My Lady Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 9, 2026

Focus, My Lady (Korean title: 집중하세요, 아가씨; the "App") puts your privacy first. The App uses the front camera to check where you are looking while you study, but it never stores or transmits any face-related data.

1. Camera and gaze information

The App uses the front camera only during lessons and on the gaze calibration screen. From the camera feed, Google MediaPipe (an on-device model) calculates only numeric values representing the direction of your face and the movement of your eyes, which are used to determine whether you are looking at the screen. These values are discarded right after each check. Camera video and face images are never saved to files, recorded or transmitted, and they have nothing to do with biometric authentication. Only the calibration result (a few reference values for face direction) is saved on your device for your next lesson.

2. Face data

(1) What face data the App processes: From the front camera feed, the Google MediaPipe Face Landmarker model bundled inside the App calculates, on the device, facial landmark points, the orientation of the face (left/right and up/down angles), and numeric values describing eye movement and blinking. The App does not store face photos or video, and it does not use the face to identify or authenticate anyone (it is unrelated to Face ID). (2) How it is used: Solely to determine during a lesson whether the user is looking at the screen, looking away, or has left, and for the gaze calibration needed for that. It is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, machine-learning training or any other purpose. (3) Where it is stored and whether it is shared: All face data is processed only in the memory of the user's device and is never transmitted off the device. The developer operates no servers, and face data is not shared with any third party, including Google, Apple or ad networks. (4) Retention and deletion: Values calculated for each camera frame are discarded immediately after each check and are not retained. The only exception is the gaze calibration result — a few reference numbers (average face angles and eye-direction values for three poses) — which is saved in the App's storage on the device so the next lesson can start without recalibrating. These values are not images and cannot be used to reconstruct a face or identify a person. They are overwritten when the user selects "Recalibrate gaze" and are deleted immediately when the App is deleted.

3. Information stored on your device

Lesson records (date, lesson and focused time, number of scolds, grade), gaze calibration reference values, your last chosen tutor and lesson length, sound and haptics settings, and purchase and ad-pass status. This information stays only on your device and is all deleted when you delete the App.

4. Advertising

Google AdMob rewarded ads are shown only when you choose to watch one to try a premium tutor once. The App requests non-personalized ads only and does not track you using the advertising identifier (IDFA). To serve ads and prevent fraud, Google may process limited information such as device type, approximate region and ad interactions. Face and gaze data are never used for advertising. In some regions, such as Europe, a consent form may be shown before ads.

5. In-app purchases

Hiring a tutor permanently is processed through Apple's App Store payment system. Payment information is handled by Apple; the App never receives or stores it.

6. Information we do not collect

Personally identifiable information such as name, email or phone number; location; face images, video or biometric information; contacts or photos; the advertising identifier (IDFA) or cross-app tracking information; usage statistics.

7. Sharing with third parties

The App does not sell or share personal information. Google AdMob is used to provide rewarded ads, and even then no face or gaze data or personally identifiable information is passed on.

8. Permissions

Camera: checking your gaze while you study (required). You can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings; without camera access, lessons cannot be started.

9. Children

The App is not directed at any particular age group and does not collect personally identifiable information from children.

10. Retention and deletion

All information stays only on your device and is deleted immediately when you delete the App.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will notify you through an App update and this page, and update the effective date.
